Piris Eliyahu composed "The Book of Creation" under the inspiration of Sefer Yetzirah, an ancient mystic text traditionally attributed to the Patriarch Abraham that serves as the basis of the Kabblah, dealing with the essence of the creation of the world and of humanity. Of the 12 available makams in classical eastern music, Eliyahu chose for this work the Rast makam, because if its inherent integrity, optimism and transcendence. Listening to the entire composition in sequence creates a distinctive musical and emotional experience, but the same experience is there for those who listen to various parts of the composition not in sequence.
